Surfacing in Estonia around 2004 with an album "Bad Paintings" that explored lo-fi elevator music mixed with seductive and introspective lyrics, Paul Cole formed several lineups from local musicians to support his live act on stage. The latter of these - a quartet called Paul Cole & The Great Outdoors has been active since 2009 during which time there developed a new face of Paul Cole's music - a blend of melodic americana and heavy blues, derived from the second album "The Storm HIts", released in 2009. The band has since performed in Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Germany and gained following among the connoisseurs of absurd roots rock. Another notable group connected with Cole is a 'power-trio' called Paul Cole & Ring My Bell, which features an all-girlpower rhythm section.
